Zhou Zhiyi

Zhou Zhiyi graduated from Central South University with a bachelor’s degree in English, followed by master’s and doctoral degrees in Business English Studies from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. She is currently pursuing a postdoctoral fellowship in International Language Services at Beijing Language and Culture University, where she also serves as a co-supervisor for graduate students in International Language Services, under the supervision of Professor Wang Lifei. With funding from the China Scholarship Council (CSC), she completed a co-supervised doctoral study at Lancaster University in the United Kingdom. Her research interests include business discourse, language services, and corpus linguistics. She has participated in a National Social Science Post-Fund Research Program entitled “A Cross-Cultural Register Analysis of Corporate Social Responsibility Discourse (22FYYBO35)” and a Guangdong Provincial Philosophy and Social Science Research Program entitled “A Comparative Critical Metaphor Analysis of Chinese and American Corporate Discourse (GD20CWY17)”, as well as leading three university-level research programs, with several articles and reports published.

2024 Doctoral Students in International Language Services at Beijing Language and Culture University

Li Yifeng

Li Yifeng is the Deputy General Manager at Beijing Spirit Translation Co., Ltd. and a Ph.D. candidate majoring in International Language Services at Beijing Language and Culture University (Class of 2024), supervised by Professor Wang Jihui. He earned his master’s degree in Computer-Assisted Translation from Peking University. He has been in the translation industry for over ten years. He started with internationalization and has been heavily involved in software internationalization, gaining extensive experience with various tools and methodologies. Li has actively promoted translation technology in both industry and academia, delivering lectures and training for numerous companies and universities. He is a seasoned trainer and consultant in translation technology.

Peng Zhe

Peng Zhe is a Ph.D. candidate majoring in International Language Services at Beijing Language and Culture University (Class of 2024), supervised by Professor Wang Lifei. Her research interests lie in language services and business English. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business English from Shandong University of Finance and Economics and a Master’s degree in Foreign Linguistics and Applied Linguistics from Beijing Language and Culture University. Throughout her academic journey, she has been actively involved in numerous provincial, ministerial, and university-level research projects, contributing as a team member to the publication of several research reports.

Ren Jiaopin

Ren Jiaopin is a lecturer at Zhongyuan Institute of Science and Technology and a Ph.D. candidate majoring in International Language Services at Beijing Language and Culture University (Class of 2024), supervised by Professor Yu Zhonggen. Her research interests include intelligent foreign language teaching and research, second language acquisition, and other related fields. Her course “College English” has been recognized as a province-level teaching demonstration course, and she has secured a total of 17 awards in various provincial and university-level teaching competitions. She has presided over eight research projects and published seven academic papers and one book.

2024 Master's Students in International Language Services at Beijing Language and Culture University

Chen Junda

Chen Junda, who holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU), is currently a postgraduate student majoring in International Language Services (specifically Localization Management) at BLCU (Class of 2024). His research interests include translation technology. During his undergraduate studies, Junda was awarded the university’s first-class scholarship, and he excelled in both the TEM-4 and TEM-8. He actively participated in various activities and previously worked as a technology translator for Zhiyi Technology’s AI industry media platform, Zhidx. He currently serves as a technology journalist at the company.

Chen Xiaotong

Chen Xiaotong, who holds a bachelor’s degree in Translation from South-Central Minzu University, is currently a postgraduate student majoring in International Language Services (specifically Localization Management) at Beijing Language and Culture University (Class of 2024). He led a National College Student Innovation Training Program, which was selected for the 16th National College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Annual Conference. He has passed TEM-8, Shanghai Advanced-Level English Interpretation Examination, and CATTI Level 3 in English translation, and has won more than ten awards above the provincial level, including the National English Translation Competition for College Students and the China University Business Elite Challenge. Chen aspires to become a valuable and contributing member of society.

Chen Ying

Chen Ying, who holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Central South University of Forestry and Technology, is currently a postgraduate student majoring in International Language Services (specifically Language Service Management) at Beijing Language and Culture University (Class of 2024). During her undergraduate studies, she led an Undergraduate Training Program for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and participated in an education reform project in Hunan Province, honing strong research skills. Her current research interests include emergency language services and language service management.

Cheng Zan

Cheng Zan, who holds a bachelor’s degree in Translation and Interpreting (English) from Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU), is currently a postgraduate student majoring in International Language Services (specifically Localization Management) at BLCU (Class of 2024). Her research interests include translation technology, project management, etc. During her undergraduate period, she was awarded the National Encouragement scholarship and the title of “Beijing Outstanding Student Leader”. Until now, she has been certified with CATTI Level 3 in English translation and passed TEM-8. During her studies, she participated in language service work for many large forums, which cultivated her language service quality.

Dai Chang

Dai Chang, who holds a bachelor’s degree in English and Accounting from Yanbian University (graduating with both a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Management), is currently a postgraduate student majoring in International Language Services (specifically Business Language Services) at Beijing Language and Culture University (Class of 2024). She passed TEM-8 and also obtained a professional qualification in accounting and a Senior High School English Teacher Qualification Certificate. Moreover, she won six first and second prizes in national and provincial competitions for lectures, vocabulary, and speeches, and was awarded the honors of Merit Student, Excellent Student Cadre and Excellent Intern. During her four-year study, she participated in four scientific projects, including the sub-topic of “An Applied Study on the Deep Integration of Information Technology and English Teaching” of the planning subject for the 13th five-year plan of national education sciences.

Duan Yuhong

Duan Yuhong, who holds a bachelor’s degree in Translation from Yanshan University, is currently a postgraduate student majoring in International Language Services (specifically Business Language Services) at Beijing Language and Culture University (Class of 2024). With certifications in the English Test for International Communication (superior level), CATTI (level 3), and TEM-8, she sees language as a lever to ease barriers and deal with practical issues.

Ji Xiaochen

Ji Xiaochen, who holds a bachelor’s degree from Qufu Normal University, is currently a postgraduate student majoring in International Language Services (specifically Business Language Services) at Beijing Language and Culture University (Class of 2024). She was awarded the title of “Outstanding Graduate of Shandong Province”. She passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test N1 and achieved an excellent result in the Test for Japanese Majors-Band 4. During her undergraduate studies, she received multiple first-class scholarships, outstanding student cadres, and other honorary titles. She has worked as an interpreter for the FIBA 3x3 Basketball National League and as a leader of the Innovative Entrepreneurship Training Program for college students, and so on. She has also won the silver medal in the FLTRP “National Talent Cup” “Understanding Contemporary China” National College Students’ Foreign Language Ability Competition, the third prize in the CASIO Cup National Graduate and Undergraduate Speech & Debate Competition, and the first prize in the North China Division of the Zhonghua Cup National Japanese Speech Competition.

Li Yutong

Li Yutong, who holds a bachelor’s degree in Translation (specifically Localization) from Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU), is currently a postgraduate student majoring in International Language Services (specifically Localization Management) at BLCU (Class of 2024). She is passionate about content creation and enjoys learning technology. She has interned in the Lark Department of Beijing Zitiao Network Technology Co., Ltd., where she was mainly responsible for formulating product content strategies and creating help documents. She masters various CAT tools and programming languages and has passed TEM-4 and TEM-8.

Liu Rundong

Liu Rundong, who holds a bachelor’s degree in English from North University of China, is currently a postgraduate student majoring in International Language Services (specifically Business Language Services) at Beijing Language and Culture University (Class of 2024). He possesses certifications, including the SIA, ETIC for Senior Translation, and both TEM-4 and TEM-8. Liu has been recognized with notable accolades, including two national-level awards in the National College English Debate and Speech Series competitions hosted by Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press, as well as three provincial-level awards. He is also a recipient of the Shanxi Province Hubei Chamber of Commerce Scholarship. His professional experience includes internships at various esteemed organizations such as the Hubei Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, Wuhan Overseas Chinese Federation, Ezhou Huarong District Committee Organization Department, and the China Foreign Languages Bureau Translation Institute. Additionally, Liu has represented as a distinguished guest at international events like the 8th Yangtze-Volga Sino-Russian Youth Forum.

Song Ge

Song Ge, who holds a bachelor’s degree in French from Yan Shan University, is currently a postgraduate student majoring in International Language Services (specifically Localization Management) at Beijing Language and Culture University (Class of 2024). Song Ge was awarded titles of “Outstanding Graduate of Hebei Province” and “Merit Student of Hebei Province”. Proficient in TFS-4 and TFS-8, she received the Bronze Award in the French Language Group at the 2023 “FLTRP·CUP National Foreign Language Ability Competition on Understanding Contemporary China” National Finals.

Wang Zhenze

Wang Zhenze, who holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU), is currently a postgraduate student majoring in International Language Services (specifically Localization Management) at BLCU (Class of 2024). His research interests include translation technology, term management, etc. Currently, he is certified with CATTI Level 3 in English translation and has passed TEM-8. During his undergraduate studies, he was awarded National Encouragement Scholarships, and titles of “Chinese University Students’ star of Self-improvement”, “Beijing Outstanding Student Cadre” and “Beijing Outstanding Graduate”. Additionally, he, as a volunteer, participated in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games and contributed to the construction of the Winter Olympics Terminology Platform, providing event language services and terminology translation.

Wei Tianci

Wei Tianci, who holds a bachelor’s degree in English (Translation and Localization) from Shandong Jianzhu University, is currently a postgraduate student majoring in International Language Services (specifically Localization Management) at Beijing Language and Culture University (Class of 2024). Her research interests include translation technology and project management. Certified with CATTI Level 3 in English translation and passed TEM-8, she was awarded the title of “Outstanding Graduate of Shandong Province”. She won the first-class scholarship for three consecutive years and participated in a national-level college students’ innovation and entrepreneurship training program.

Xie Yi

Xie Yi, who holds a bachelor’s degree in Translation from Qufu Normal University, is currently a postgraduate student majoring in International Language Services (specifically Localization Management) at Beijing Language and Culture University (Class of 2024). During her undergraduate studies, she was awarded the title of “Outstanding Graduate of Shandong Province” and certified with CATTI Level 3 in English translation, and passed TEM-4 and TEM-8.

Xie Yixin

Xie Yixin, who holds a bachelor’s degree in English from China University of Petroleum (Beijing), is currently a postgraduate student majoring in International Language Services (specifically Business Language Services) at Beijing Language and Culture University (Class of 2024). She has passed the TEM-4 and TEM-8 as well as certified with CATTI Level 3 in English translation.

Yu Jiaxin

Yu Jiaxin, who holds a bachelor’s degree in Russian from Northeast Agricultural University, is currently a postgraduate student majoring in International Language Services (specifically Localization Management) at Beijing Language and Culture University (Class of 2024). Her research interests include translation technology, foreign language education, etc. She was awarded the title of Merit Student of Heilongjiang Province during her undergraduate studies. She participated in the International Academic Conference of the Pushkin State Institute of the Russian Language and wrote the academic report “The impact of machine translation from Russian to Chinese and from Chinese to Russian on teaching Russian as a foreign language”, which was published in conference proceedings in the Russian Science Citation Index.

Zhang Ying

Zhang Ying, who holds a bachelor’s degree in Translation at South-Central Minzu University, is currently a postgraduate student majoring in International Language Services (specifically Business Language Services) at Beijing Language and Culture University (Class of 2024). She obtained both the National Scholarship and a school-level first-class scholarship. She excelled in TEM-4, performed well in TEM-8, and achieved a C1 level in IELTS. Besides, she led the College Students Innovation Training Program titled “Research on Demand and Supply of Rural Language Services under the Background of Rural Revitalization: A Case study of She County in Anhui Province”, which focused on the current situation and characteristics of language services in rural areas under the background of Internet. Moreover, her thesis, titled “An E-C Translation Report Based on the MTPE Mode of Production Agreement of the Garments Company”, which analyzes machine output errors and summarizes corresponding post-editing strategies, won the Outstanding Papers Award.
